The Board of Education adopted the following policies at the January 17th meeting:
- #8110 - Surveillance Cameras in the School District
- #1340 - Freedom of Information Law (attachment only)
- #3640 - Extraclassroom Activity Fund Policy
#8110 changed may to will with regards to blocking other students when reviewing incidents on video. This protects unwarranted viewing and it is done now but feel strongly it should be reflected in the policy. #1340 removed an inaccurate statement from the list of items that may be requested as part of our FOIL application, and it was recommended by Counsel to remove the line from the attachment. #3640 is a new policy that was recommended by the District's internal auditor/Counsel/NY State Education Department.

The gyms at the Dr. George F. Mack Middle School and O'Neill High School will be open on Sundays from 1:15 - 3:15 p.m. (January 8th through March 25th) to provide oportunities for residents of the Walton Central School District to play basketball or indoor soccer.
Those under 21 years of age must be supervised by an adult, who remains in attendance. Please bring your own basketballs or soccer equipment as the locker rooms are not accessible. It is a great place to get some exercise with school friends and alumni during winter break; and a safe, warm place for exercise during the winter months.
There is a $3.00 charge for each participant per week or you can save a little money by buying a season pass for just $30.00 or get three (3) season passes for $60.00. |
